UShareNH is the
fruit of growing partnerships between the
State of New Hampshire and various Community
and Faith-based organizations in meeting the
needs of NH citizens. Although the software
we have created is exciting and forward
thinking, the power, and value, of this
project is found in the communities we are
helping to connect. They are creative and
innovative but often find themselves working
in isolation which can result in duplicated
efforts. NH would be well served with
closer cooperation. UShare helps make that
possible.
Here’s how
UShare works: A resource
request is posted in one of our 7 virtual
warehouses by a state, community or
faith-based social service worker. The
posting triggers an automatic ActionAlert to
UShare members which fit both geographic and
category criteria stored in their Member
Profiles. This technology ensures that
UShare members will only be contacted with
needs they choose to be informed about.
Members can respond to the need, or not, as
necessary contact information will be
provided in the ActionAlert.
It will be the responsibility of the social
services worker to screen any offers of
assistance and choose an appropriate
solution for their client.
Once the
screening process is complete, a connection
can be made and the need met. In
some cases, a team of resource providers can
be coordinated by the social service worker.
A final report will be sent to let everyone
who received the original alert recounting
how the need was met. Each
success will strengthen the fabric of the
UShare Network and will encourage other
members to step up to the plate and get
involved.
Each of the
virtual warehouses can also be perused by
social service workers to see if there is a
resource offer that would be useful to those
they are trying to help. In times of
emergency, or in response to a disaster,
UShare can quickly mobilize willing
volunteers through its eBlast function.
Using GPS technology, we can send an eBlast
to faith-based and community organizations
to help meet needs or respond to a disaster.
